The Seminole nickname, logo and depiction are fully approved by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which is involved in any depiction of the only Native American tribe in the United States not conquered by the U.S. government. In 1947, FSU students voted the Seminoles as the university nickname. The recently updated athletic logo has been around since the early '70s, with its original model being the composer of the school's fight and victory songs.
We have finished the logo in the traditional FSU colors of garnet and gold. White and black, which represent the Seminole Tribe of Florida, are also present.
